Ken Koast presents “Rogue Chameleon: Verses for the Restless”, the end product of #The10DayBookWritingChallenge that ran from Saturday 13 June 2020 to Monday 22 June 2020.
The idea was the child of an anxious mind craving artistic expression & wanting to push itself beyond its creative limits. There was also the restlessness of being unable to release the previously completed anthology “Thoughts of a Patient Man Breaking” in these unorthodox times curated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The project was executed as follows:
Day 1 – 7 (0937hrs on 13 June 2020 to 2057hrs on 19 June 2020): Writing
Day 8 (20 June 2020): Compilation, Layout & Creative Design
Day 9 (21 June 2020): Editing
Day 10 (22 June 2020): Final Edits & Upload to Website
In “Rogue Chameleon”, Hip Hop is substantively translated into Poetry – which it already is, when you think about it. The structure of the verses is Rap while the verbiage is more in tune with ‘traditional’ Poetry.
NOTE: The colour coded annotation of rhyme schemes within the verses was inspired by Genius.com’s stylistic breakdown of Hip Hop verses.
